Agony Aunt

Was watching Lizzie McGuire last night. A cute series on Disney channel. Last night’s concept had Lizzie as the advisor columnist on her school webpage. Advisor to teenagers. I was reminded of Agony Aunt on one of the children’s’ supplements in TIO. I was in my mid teens. And at that age life is a problem that isn’t actually so problematic. Anyway, most of the queries would be about crushes and heart-aches. They covered at least 40% of the column. The rest of it contained problems related to friends, siblings, teachers etc. As always the problem seemed pretty… unproblematic to me. And I’d think “The lady gets paid for this?? I’d be ever ready to take up the job, if even I were to be paid.” It always has been easy to give advices. And they are best accepted when given for free.

Just out of curiosity even I’d mailed to this column with a problem. I’m not sure but after almost 3 months later I’d read a problem that sounded similar to what I’d sent. I’m not sure coz I’d mailed it under a secret name and 3 months is some time where my memory can fail me. I’d forgotten what name I chose. But I still remember the problem. It was related to Math. Well… that is one subject, ever full of problems.
