These days everyone seems to be glued to Radio. My parents talk of radio as old times. I’d never realized that I’d someday be interested in listening to radio. The idea was always that TV programs’ are always better. It is only after coming to Bangalore that I actually got to know what radio is, how good the programs are. And also that it is a li’l difficult for the RJ to please a wide range of listeners. It has become an integral part of my commute. Though I have an MP3 player with FM receiver, I always prefer listening to the radio as compared to the songs that I’ve copied into the player.

Today morning was a real surprise for me when I saw a boy of about 12 walking on the road holding tea cups in both the hands (must be going to deliver it to some nearby shop). This is not an unusual sight. The unusual thing is I saw his ears plugged with earphones. I do not know if this is to be attributed to advancement in technology or the inquisitiveness in kids. Be it whatever, it was a pleasant sight.

:-) Mukul tells me how Radio was the in thing in his grandfather's youth. Transistors were the ultimate fashion statement and having one close to your ears was considered as hip as was having a cell phone some 10+ years back..
