Happy Diwali!!!!

I’m back home for Diwali. The festival of lights, crackers (don’t like them anymore. So didn’t bust any) and sweets. As it usually happens, a grand welcome by Chotu on arrival. Mom was nagging him in the morning saying “He’s never home at this time otherwise. Don’t understand how he knows of your arrival but he’s been waiting since early morning.” He ought to coz I’m the one who feeds him with the best of foods when I get a chance. Every time I offer him food, he first smells it, he does trust me in spite of me trying to feed him green chillies and the types. He'd seldom deny food I offer coz many a times it has been sweets. He also gives me looks that seem to say “Do you always have to feed me with all fattening food, Fatso??” but yea the Kaaju Katli that I’ll have offered would be gulped in with a look of “One more please!!” in his eyes.
Getting back to the lament that I sat to write this thing for. I got delayed by more than 2 hours this time. All thanks to the Bangalore traffic. Oh what a night it was on Thursday. It took me an hour and fifteen minutes to reach the bus terminus, which usually takes me not more than half hour. Darn the policemen who kept diverting traffic on all the roads. I was thankful that my friend decided we take the 11 O’clock bus as against the usual 10 pm one coz we managed to reach the terminus only by 10:20 pm. That was when started our real ordeal of which we were unaware. Expectedly unexpected crowd inside the terminus. We waded through it to park ourselves at a place where lesser people had access to push and pull at us. We then headed to the platform where our bus was supposed to arrive, at 10 minutes to 11. We waited, standing, as there wasn’t place enough even to stand, from then on patiently till 12. It was then time for patience to say good night and be off for the day. But there were no signs of the arrival of our bus. I started walking around in search for it, in case if the designated stop had been changed due to whatever reasons. Did all that could be thought of using a mind that had shut itself off for the day, had coffee, took as frequent walks and tried having forty winks while standing with nothing but frustration and an equally frustrated friend for company. By 1:30 most of the crowd had either been lucky to find their own bus, decided to take any available one or better decided to cancel the trip. That was when we found seats to rest our butts and also luckily spot the conductor of our bus who informed us that the bus would be able to reach in about an hour. Well… it did arrive at 2:30 and we departed by 2:45 am. And as a result I spend all of y’day asleep. And I’ve been having weird dreamz of late. A later post dedicated to the weird dreams that have, last night’s star cast was Jonny Depp and a few other creatures from Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man’s Chest.
