There have been unfortunate incidents by the end of 2005 and beginning of 2006. I prayed that God bless us all before I got into New Year celebrations.
We had a spinster party on 31st night. All friends from school. We cooked, ordered some food from outside. Danced. Cut the cake at midnight. Ate, drank, laughed and danced all the night. Had a bash!! It was all very nice till midnight. At midnight, I'd missed the call from home. As I was desperately trying to call home and praying that my call gets connected in the busy network I remembered, this is my first New Year celebration out of home. Every year I'd be at home, with my parents. Not dancing but watching people dance on T.V. Not cooking but eating what mom would specially cook for the night. Or we'd get something from outside to avoid mom over working. Not cutting cakes but fighting with mom n bro as to which channel is telecasting the best program. And at the strike of 12, we'd welcome the New Year by wishing ourselves first then call up close relatives and friends. Trying to be the first among the friends to wish the others. I missed all that. I missed being kissed the New Year wish by both mom and dad.
I don't think I like this growing up and being independent business as much. Why is it that "Kuch paane ke liye kuch khona padta hai"? Why can't I have the cake and eat it as well...
Now... am I being greedy??
