The Night alone

I moved into my new home las evening. I was invited by my fren, who lives close by, for dinner. I'd not been to her place since she got married so thought this to be a good occasion. Earlier I was staying a li'l far off so had excuses. And weekends are when I'd not wanna get out of my home. But now I know that no excuses gonna work.
I dumped my luggage and headed straight to their place. Had dinner there, talked for quite some time. Then it was time for me to leave. Both she and her hubby came to drop me till my place as it was quite late.
Once back I was'nt interested in unpacking coz the place needs cleaning. It's pretty dirty. Postponed the herculean task for the weekend, got into my night dress and hit the bed.
At 12:03 (I checked my mobile for time) something grazed past my arm. I was sleeping as though I'd not slept for ages (tired out shifting. Moreover, I'm on a fast. Navratri you see. For 9 days gonna have only dinner.) I thougt lemme brush the thought aside and continue to sleep when I remembered I'm at a new place, What if there are cockroaches and lizards?? *yuck* Nooooooo. I woke up all of a sudden, got off the bed and started hunting for the switch board to switch the light on. What if the lizard is on the floor and wat if I step on it?? urrrgh. Finally got the lights on to find that it was no living thing at all. My hand had just brushed past the metal wardrobe standing close to the bed.
