I Love my ex-boss

Please don't be mislead by the title on a day like 14th of February. This has nothing to do with the occasion. What just happened made my day and for the past year.
My ex-boss is such a cute soul. I admire him from the day I met him as he is one of the intelligent bosses I've got to work with. The best thing, he likes me. Not a likely scenario, isn't it?? Though we're through with the project he's never turned me down even if he's busy, each time I approached him. Not many do this if you fail to maintain a rapport. And so I like him a lot.
Coming to the highlights, he just informed me that I've fared really well in the previous project. And that I'm in the Top Layer of employees (which means one of the better paid lot). This holds no significance organization wide as there are many such people. But to me, of course, it matters a lot. And I would like to partially accredit him for this achievement of mine. If your boss doesn't back you up well, then the HR is ever ready to disappoint you. And my boss has done his best. And thus I love him.
