Leisure

Today in the morning I was seated in the shuttle to office and was looking out of the window, bored. While gazing at nothingness my eyes stopped for a moment at a girl standing in her balcony. And in the next moment I noticed a couple sitting in their balcony. The husband reading the news paper along with his coffee and the wife must be bantering along with hers. And my thoughts started flowing.
"How lucky they are to have time to sit in their balcony at this time of the day. I don't have time for this at any time all through the day. What if I find time? I don't have a balcony here :)." Then I was reminded of my good old days.
When I was in 7th standard, I used to spend long hours under the pomegranate tree reading, playing and talking to myself.
When in college, early mornings would be: take Chotu for a walk, come back and pluck flowers for Dad's prayer. I'd take longer than the required time coz Chotu would be in a very playful mood, not letting me do my work. Pulling at my dress, jumping around happily. Lately Dad was tired telling that both of us would get late if I didn’t hurry.
During rains I'd stand in my balcony and let the small droplets splatter on my face. I remember one morning, half awake I put my feet on the ground and retracted immediately coz I felt I touched water. I opened my eyes to find my room flooded, not very badly though. Dad and I had to sweep the water out.
Sigh!!
